Project One Studio is an art-focused digital design and manufacturing studio located in Indianapolis, Indiana. We work at the infinite intersection of art and architecture, designing, producing, and installing public art throughout the county. Our studio thrives on creative thinking, non-traditional methods and attention to detail. Our process is exploratory, open, and constantly changing. We continue to research new technologies and integrate computing software, digital manufacturing tools and craftsmanship in each project. Our studio is agile in nature, bringing a diversified and multifaceted work experience.

People we are looking for:

Project One Studio is currently looking for a creative and dedicated person to fill a full-time design position. Candidates are expected to bring a wide range of skills and interests, and focus on parametric design and digital manufacturing. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to receive education, learn new skills, and a desire to continuously develop the skills that they bring to the position. Candidates should be good at solving complex design problems, be highly organized, and focus on craftsmanship, details, and materials research. Candidates should be able to demonstrate relevant experience in art, architecture, engineering, manufacturing or other design fields.

-Proficient in Rhinoceros 3D or equivalent CAD/CAM experience-Proficient in Grasshopper or equivalent geometry-based scripting/coding experience-Understanding parametric design and actual implementation-Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign-Graphic design, rendering and visualization Experience-The ability to effectively manage complex tasks in a collaborative environment-Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills

-3 to 5 years of experience in a similar design environment-General understanding of CNC manufacturing tools and strategies, including routers, laser cutting machines, plasma cutting machines, 3D printers-General understanding of basic structures or electrical engineering principles-Yes General understanding of measurement, conversion, tolerances, materials and basic manual workshop tools and safety procedures-Ability to cooperate with material suppliers and subcontractors-Excellent performance in professional manufacturing fields (welding, painting, machining, etc.)
